The National Award for Individual Excellence in Social Defence is a high-level recognition presented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, specifically through the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD). This award is conferred upon individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment and made significant contributions to the "Social Defence" sector—which covers the welfare of senior citizens, transgender persons, the prevention of drug abuse, and the rehabilitation of marginalized groups. Recipients are typically chosen for their innovative approaches to community counseling, public awareness campaigns, or service delivery that strengthens the social fabric and provides a safety net for vulnerable populations across India.

The honour was presented by Dr. Arvind Mishra, Executive Director, NID Legacy Group.
